What happens at IITG-TIC

A home for new-age entrepreneurs and young minds to transform innovative ideas into viable business ventures — with mentorship, infrastructure, and a multidisciplinary push from IIT Guwahati and the wider North-East ecosystem.

Who We Are

A space where ideas become ventures.

The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati — Technology Incubation Centre (IITG-TIC) is a space for new-age entrepreneurs and young minds to transform their innovative ideas into viable business propositions. Our primary goal is to facilitate a platform where a budding entrepreneur can start a business venture with minimum risks.

IITG-TIC ensures that incubatees have access to technological assistance, generated through mentors with multidisciplinary expertise. We encourage young enthusiasts — those with creative pursuits and an inherent zeal to be entrepreneurs — to take advantage of this novel initiative.

Our Mission

Encouraging entrepreneurship across the North-East.

IITG-TIC is registered as a Society under the Registration of Societies Act XXI of 1860. Its goal is to encourage entrepreneurial initiatives amongst the faculty and alumni of the IITG community in particular — and other State or Central Government technical institutions of the North-East more broadly. It is an opportunity to explore and implement innovative ideas into commercially viable products through technology startup companies.

The centre facilitates interdisciplinary research with special emphasis on the development and innovation of high-growth, knowledge-based businesses — and nurtures indigenous products with innovative hardware and embedded designs.

Infrastructure & Support

4,000 m² inside the Technology Complex.

Technical support, business mentoring, and a soft-loan facility — subject to availability — are the key services of this centre. Spreading across an area of approximately 4,000 square metres within the Technology Complex of IIT Guwahati, IITG-TIC has the adequate infrastructure for this endeavour.

Funds for developing basic infrastructure and the soft-loan facility are provided by the Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India. IITG-TIC is also one of the Business Incubators approved and recognised by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Govt. of India. The Technology Development Board, under the Ministry of Science & Technology, has additionally approved grant assistance to IITG-TIC to support startup units.
