Common questions
01 Who can apply to IITG-TIC?
Anyone with a working idea and an inherent zeal to build a venture — students, faculty, alumni and outside founders are all welcome. We particularly encourage applicants from the North-East.
02 What kind of ideas does the centre support?
Technology-led ideas — deep tech, hardware, software platforms, embedded systems, knowledge-based products. The idea should have a credible path to becoming a commercially viable venture.
03 What support does the centre provide?
Workspace inside the Technology Complex, technical assistance, business mentoring, network access, and — subject to availability — a soft-loan facility.
04 Is funding available?
Yes. Soft-loan support is available for qualifying incubatees, and we work with funding partners including the Technology Development Board and Startup India for further capital.
05 Do I need to be affiliated with IIT Guwahati?
No. While we have a strong link with the IITG community, we welcome founders from anywhere — particularly from across the North-East ecosystem.
06 How long is the incubation programme?
Programme length varies with the venture. Some incubatees graduate inside a year; others stay through multi-year R&D arcs. The arrangement is shaped to fit the work.
07 How do I apply?
Head to the Apply page and submit your idea. Our team will review it and reach out for a conversation if it looks like a fit.
